Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to write my own children’s book. As you know from my blog, I have a love and passion for children’s literature, so writing this book has been extremely fulfilling and rewarding. I am very lucky to have worked on such an amazing project with Mindy Winebrenner (co-author and special educator) and our talented illustrator, Yuki Osada, who has brought our story to life. Yuki has also created the images for my blog (e.g. bread people, etc.)
The story of The Monkey Balloon was created when my own daughter let go of her balloon at a carnival. After she had lost it, we talked about where it went, etc. I thought, “What a great idea for a children’s book” and this is what we did. Three years later, The Monkey Balloon was published and is available through Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
